Sporanox®-Pulse is a capsule containing the active ingredient itraconazole and is taken by mouth.
Sporanox®-Pulse belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals.
Sporanox®-Pulse is used in the treatment of infections caused by fungi or yeasts, specifically for nail infections and skin infections of the hands or feet.
Sporanox®-Pulse works by destroying the fungi that cause infections of the nails or skin.
Like all medicines, Sporanox®-Pulse can cause side effects in some people, some of which may need urgent medical attention. Side effects can include: sudden swelling of the face or throat; hives (nettlerash or urticaria); severe irritation or reddening of your skin; blistering of your mouth, eyes or genitals; a tingling sensation, numbness or weakness in the limbs; severe lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, stomach pain, muscle weakness, yellowing of your skin or whites of your eyes, unusually dark urine, pale stools, hair loss, shortness of breath, unexpected weight gain, swelling of your legs or abdomen, feeling unusually tired or waking up short of breath at night.
Care is needed if you are pregnant, breast-feeding or taking medications for other conditions. It is very important to discuss these issues with your doctor before you start taking Sporanox®-Pulse.
